Texas Hill Country Trip - August 2026

It was a warm but very enjoyable trip down to my beloved Texas Hill Country. My amazing Dad (Dan Stone (1939-2023)) loved that part of Texas about as much as I do, and I sure think of him often whenever I'm down that way. On this trip, I did a lot of the usual things that he & I used to do: hiked the ruggedly beautiful Enchanted Rock, ate the terrific burger at the Alamo Springs Cafe near Luckenbach, and ate at the delicious Cooper's Barbecue in Llano. But I also saw my favorite guitar player, Monte Montgomery, peform at his 60th birthday concert in the Luckenbach Dance Hall. His hands & fingers are as fast as ever - goodness, what a great show!
