Note: if you're like me you hate causing harm to a bass, especially since you're going to release it. A few years ago I switched to Gamakatsu barbless hooks when using plastic baits. Many of these fish were caught on one. I don't lose more fish, and the hooks do less damage to the fish, especially if one swallows the hook deep.
