Celebration Of Life

My amazing father, Dan Stone, passed away on December 14, 2023 at the age of 84. Besides being a wonderful father, friend, business leader, and mathematician - he was also the person who in 1978 made the brilliant decision to buy the enchanting 226 acres in East Texas for which this website is named.
During the last three years of his life, Dad suffered from an incurable form of neuropathy which made walking very difficult, and this limited his activites in many areas of life - including at his beloved land. His neuropathy was not painful, but for the last three weeks of his life he had a herniated disk which was painful - and it made controlling his legs even more difficult. Over the decades, Dad said many times that he enjoyed life too much for it to become unpleasant or a burden on others. On December 14, 2023 he ended his remarkable life on his own terms.
Dad was smart, generous, kind, adventurous, and incredibly intellectually curious. He was the best of us. If interested, feel free to read & see more about his amazing life via the below links to his Celebration Of Life ceremony that was held on February 4, 2024.
